Please join us Friday, May 13 for a tour of and presentation about Powderhorn Ranch. The acquisition of the stunning 17,351-acre Powderhorn Ranch along the Texas coast on Matagorda Bay, the second largest bay in the Gulf of Mexico, is the most important Texas coastal land initiative to occur in a generation. The Ranch boasts more than 11 miles of tidal bay front and is located in Calhoun County, immediately northwest of Port O'Connor.

The presentation will explore how this acquisition occurred and how it complements an existing network of public and private conservation efforts along the Texas mid-coast -- including plans for future use to benefit all Texans. In addition, the unique topography, forests and wetlands of the property will be discussed as well as the important stopover and wintering habitat the property provides for numerous species.

Powderhorn Ranch is located about two hours from Houston, or a three to four drive from either Austin or San Antonio.

Hiking boots and comfortable field clothing is recommended -- temperatures will be warm.

When you register, please specify if you'd prefer a vegetarian lunch.
