Hiring Organization Information
The Summerlee Foundation is seeking a full-time Office Manager/Administrative Assistant beginning in April 2020. The Summerlee Foundation is a private charitable foundation with offices on the grounds of the historic Caruth Homeplace in Dallas. The foundation funds two areas: Texas history and animal protection.
This position serves as the assistant to the President and Program Directors, handles the main communications of the office, organizes and manages board of director’s meetings, and serves as the general office manager. A good financial background is important, as responsibilities for the position include managing all banking needs, monthly bookkeeping duties, payroll, paying invoices, monitoring cash flow, and working with the foundation’s accountants, auditors, and investment advisers. This position processes grant applications and manages the foundation’s grants management computer program, and also works to help manage the foundation’s oil and gas holdings. Finally, this position serves as the foundation’s main person in charge of personnel, retirement, and employment records.
Experience level: B.A. degree and 5-10 years of office management experience
The successful candidate should be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoInt, Quickbooks Pro, MicroEdge Gifts, and willing to learn other programs as appropriate. They should also be self-motivated and able to work independently in a relatively quiet work environment.
Timetable: The position will begin on April 6, 2020 in order to train with the current Office Manager/Administrative Assistant until the conclusion of the fiscal year, June 30, 2020.
