Community Foundations

Community foundations play a vital role in strengthening our region, by working with individuals, nonprofits, businesses and other stakeholders to enhance the quality of life for residents in their communities.
Philanthropy Southwest is committed to helping community foundations succeed in their work. Through workshops, events, networking opportunities and resources,  we help community foundation staff and trustees stay connected to the issues that affect their communities.

Community Foundations Convening

On January 11, 2016, Philanthropy Southwest hosted a convening of Community Foundation staff and trustees at Communities Foundation of Texas. The goals of the convening were:

  • to deterimine the type of new support/leadership Philanthropy Southwest might provide to community foundations

As a result, several ideas are being explored by Philanthropy Southwest staff.  Stay tuned for programs and resources to be rolled out in 2016.
