Learning Labs are interactive, expert-led learning experiences designed to move participants beyond traditional presentations and into deeper exploration and practical application. Across three learning sessions- two in person and one virtual workshop session- each Learning Lab is guided by subject matter experts while participants engage with new ideas, real-world examples, facilitated discussion, and hands-on exercises.

Emerging Tech Learning Lab

The Emerging Tech Learning Lab is focused on AI, cybersecurity, data integrity, and the implications of rapidly evolving technology for philanthropy.

• Build practical fluency in emerging technologies: Develop a clearer understanding of AI and other rapidly evolving technologies, including how they work, where they are headed, and what they mean for philanthropy and the communities foundations serve.
• Apply emerging technology responsibly and strategically: Explore practical use cases, tools, and frameworks that can strengthen organizational effectiveness while navigating questions of ethics, privacy, security, bias, and data integrity.
• Strengthen organizational readiness for what’s next: Identify policies, practices, and leadership considerations that can help foundations anticipate technological change, manage emerging risks, and make informed decisions about adoption and investment.

 

Multigenerational Learning Lab

Designed for foundation leaders navigating the opportunities and complexities of philanthropy across generations, this Learning Lab creates space to explore the values, relationships, and decisions that shape philanthropic work over time.

• Deepen understanding of values and identity: Explore how personal, family, and organizational values, identities, and lived experiences shape perspectives on philanthropy, leadership, decision-making, and relationships across generations.
• Navigate multigenerational dynamics with greater confidence: Build practical skills for communicating across differences, managing tension and conflict, and creating space for multiple generations to contribute meaningfully.
• Reimagine legacy across generations: Examine how ideas of legacy evolve over time and develop approaches for honoring history and founding intent while allowing philanthropic purpose, leadership, and practice to adapt for the future.
