Evolving Trends & Changing Laws: Charting a Path Through Today's Tax and Estate Planning Landscape

Date: September 11, 2020
Program: 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

The 2020 Professional Advisor Seminar focuses on evolving trends impacting tax and estate planning and will focus on specific legal rulings and changes that affect both average and affluent clients. The seminar highlights multiple traps for the unwary advisor as well as unexpected planning opportunities. Emphasizing practical ramifications on both the changing tax and estate planning environment, we will address how advisors should counsel their clients to deal to specific legal changes. Included in the presentation are various practical “valued-added” checklists for clients.

Our speaker, John J. Scroggin, J.D., LL.M. (tax), AEP (Distinguished), has practiced as a tax, business and estate planning attorney in Atlanta for over 41 years. In 2017, Jeff was inducted into the NAEPC Estate Planning Hall of Fame as its 105th inductee. US News and World Report named him one of the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Best Lawyers in America and he has been named a Georgia SuperLawyer for each of the last eleven years. Jeff served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida Levin College of Law from 2011 to 2018. Jeff was Founding Editor of the NAEPC Journal of Estate and Tax Planning from 2006-2010 and is the author of over 260 published articles on tax, business and estate planning.
