The Communities Foundation of Texas has awarded $6.3 million in grants from the organization's W.W. Caruth Jr. Fund to 15 groups that aim to use technology to drive social change. The recipients of the funds are striving to solve challenges in the areas of education, health and public safety. The grants, which range from $70,000 to $500,000, will serve residents across the Dallas area, specifically targeting areas that show high levels of poverty. It's the largest collection of grants the organization has ever announced in a single year.
