Speaker Bios
Since 2005, Christy Muse has served as executive director of the Hill Country Alliance (HCA) an organization she co-founded. The HCA is a regional non-profit dedicated to protecting the fragile and unique qualities of the Hill Country for future generations to enjoy. A quote that inspires her work reads: "Imagine a place where vibrant communities draw strength from their natural assets to sustain their quality of life - A place where citizens care about protecting the special qualities of a region - their region. A place where people and partners band together to envision a better economic future, tackle shared challenges and care for the natural, scenic, and recreational resources that define the place they call home. ~ This is a Conservation Landscape."
Lori Olson has served as the executive director of the Texas Land Trust Council (TLTC) since July of 2011. Lori has 15 years of experience in the field of land conservation, working with land trusts in Oregon, North Carolina, Georgia and Texas. She is the former executive director of the Eno River Association, a land trust located in Durham, NC. She also served as a project manager for The Trust for Public Land, focusing on Central Texas conservation projects with government agency partners. The TLTC works to build a strong, active coalition for land conservation in Texas. Its mission is to encourage excellence and strengthen the land trust community through collaboration, education, and outreach.
Shannon Meyer is the Land Trust Alliance's Western Conservation Manager. Based in Carbondale, Colorado, Shannon works closely with land trusts in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Texas, and California to deliver Alliance services designed to enhance the capacity and effectiveness of land trusts in the region. The mission of the Land Trust Alliance is to save the places people love with a national network of highly effective, well-managed and respected land trusts that strategically protect lands with the highest conservation values and ensure the protection of those lands over time.
