Collaborative FAQs

What are collaboratives?

Collaboratives at Philanthropy Southwest are thoughtfully curated experiential learning programs designed to provide our members a deeper look into important issues facing grantmakers today.

Led by nationally and regionally-recognized experts, our collaboratives are designed to foster a dynamic, cohort-based learning environment that cultivates a strong cross-regional network. Grounded in trusted peer relationships and informed by the latest data, tools, and best practices, the collaboratives will equip members to drive meaningful, collective impact across our region.

Who can participate?

Collaboratives at PSW are open to all members interested in the topic. Some collaboratives are open to non-members as well.

What are the benefits to participation?

  • Deep Learning: Gain in-depth knowledge on timely topics, access to the latest data and tools specific to the southwest region, and learn actionable strategies for immediate and practical application

  • Meaningful connections with industry experts and peers: Engage directly with leading national experts and build a strong network of supportive PSW peers to exchange ideas and experiences

  • Professional Growth: Enhance individual leadership skills and organizational effectiveness to strengthen your grantmaking and operations in our region

What is the format of a collaborative?

Collaboratives typically consist of several months of programming where participants gather virtually and/or in-person as a small cohort for monthly sessions.

Session topics are facilitated by industry and field experts once a month for 1 hour. In-person sessions may include half or full days of progamming.

Will there be any other collaboratives offered?

New collaboratives are powered by sponsorship from PSW member organizations. Sponsorship includes the opportunity to co-design the programming and curriculum in partnership with PSW’s Director of Collaboratives.

Please contact Brittany Huber at bhuber@philanthropysouthwest.org for more details on sponsorship. PSW requests a minimum of 6 months to launch a new collaborative to ensure adequate planning and marketing to maximize participant registration and speaker availability.

We look forward to your participation in one or more of our upcoming collaboratives! Please contact Brittany Huber, Senior Director of Learning, at bhuber@philanthropysouthwest.org with any questions.
