Introducing PSW's Interim Executive Director

Introducing PSW's Interim Executive Director

Tuesday, June 26, 2018

Dear Philanthropy Southwest Members and Supporters,

On behalf of the board of directors, I am very pleased to announce that Sandra Y. Nathan has been unanimously selected as interim executive director of Philanthropy Southwest.

Sandra comes to Philanthropy Southwest with extensive executive leadership experience in philanthropy, government, and the nonprofit sector. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of philanthropic services and community investment at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona in Tucson, where she was the chief strategist for the foundation’s grantmaking, community investment opportunities, and diverse capital streams. Her earlier experience includes her roles as CEO of Richmond Children’s Foundation, which she led through the process of conversion to a community foundation, and interim executive director of the AIDS Emergency Fund and Breast Cancer Emergency Fund in San Francisco, where she led both organizations through strategic restructurings. She serves on the board of directors of Northern California Grantmakers, The Task Force, and Bay Area United Black Fund.

We believe Sandra is uniquely qualified to help lead our association as we continue to evaluate our strategy, offerings, and approach during our board-led strategic direction-setting process. We anticipate launching a national search for an executive director this fall, and wish to thank our members for their continued support and input that will help shape our future as a relevant and vibrant grantmaking association.

Please join me in welcoming Sandra to the Philanthropy Southwest community. You may reach her directly at sandra@philanthropysouthwest.org

Best regards,

Amy M. Meadows
