The St. David's Foundation in Austin, Texas, has announced a grant of $8.9 million to develop a mental health center at Austin Travis County Integral Care. The grant will be used to establish a community-based psychiatric treatment center for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Scheduled to open in 2015, the planned 12,000-square-foot center at the intersection of Montopolis Drive and Ben White Boulevard in southeast Austin will offer sixteen beds and a range of integrated services, including crisis assessment, crisis stabilization, individual and group therapy, nursing services, discharge planning, and information and referral to outpatient community resources.

St. David’s Foundation is providing $4.7 million of program funding and $4.2 million in capital funding, for grants totaling $8.9 million. Austin Travis County Integral Care will work to secure additional funds for ongoing operating costs from public and private sources.
